欢迎阅读本书第 5版。在前几版成功出版的基础上,我们大幅更新和精简了书中的材料,以便让读者对快速发展的、涉及多学科的交互设计领域有比较全面的了解。我们没有进一步增加本书的篇幅,而是有意识地让它保持了相同的规模。
本教材面向想要对交互设计了解更多的专业人士以及学习人机交互、交互设计、信息与通信技术、网页设计、软件工程、数字媒体、信息系统和信息研究这一系列入门课程的不同背景的学生。本书对于那些想要深入挖掘该领域知识以及想要了解特定设计方法、界面或主题的从业者、设计师和研究人员也同样具有吸引力。本书也面向对设计和科技感兴趣的普通读者。
本书名为《交互设计:超越人机交互》,因为交互设计涉及的问题、主题与方法的范围比传统的人机交互领域更广—尽管如今这两个学科的重叠范围越来越大。我们定义交互设计为:
设计交互式产品来支持人们在日常工作生活中交流和交互的方式。

与前几版的不同之处
为了反映交互设计领域动态变化的特点,第 5版全面更新了书中的示例、图片、案例研究和窘境等。本书新增了一章,名为“大规模数据”(第 10章)。收集数据从未像现在一样简单。但是,在设计新的用户体验时了解如何处理数据却非常困难。在第 10章中,我们介绍了收集大规模数据的关键方法,讨论了如何将大规模数据转化为有意义的数据,讨论了将大规模数据可视化以及探索大规模数据的方法,还介绍了将大规模数据变得合乎伦理标准的基本设计原则。这一章被安排在讨论数据收集和数据分析基本方法的两章之后。
在第 5版中,关于交互设计过程的内容被重新安排到第 2章,以便更好地构建交互设计的讨论框架。我们更新了新的过程模型,并根据它在新版中的位置进行了一定修改。因此其他章的序号也有了相应的更新。

交互设计是以用户需求为根本,在可用性和用户体验两个层面上进行设计创造,从而达到用户满意的效果。交互设计领域涉及多种学科,在本书之前,其他关于交互设计的书籍大多集中在单一学科及领域,综合性不强。令人欣喜的是,本书思维、脉络清晰,包含大量实时更新的例子,可读性很高。
我在带领团队翻译完成本书第 4版之后,受益匪浅,并得以深入理解交互设计这一多学科交叉的产物。故在原书第 5版出版之后,便开始筹备翻译工作,希望可以将新版本的思想尽快带给广大读者,以此促进交互设计领域的发展。
为了帮助读者了解全书脉络,下面介绍一下本书中主要的理论观点。第 1章从交互设计的概念入手进行介绍,讨论了交互设计与用户体验的关系。第 2章重点介绍交互设计的过程,包括一些实际案例。第 3章介绍交互的理解与概念化。第 4~6章从认知、社交与情感多维度地分析交互设计。第 7章的侧重点有所不同,详细介绍现在比较流行的界面类型,其中包括虚拟现实、增强现实、隔空手势、可穿戴设备、机器人和无人机以及脑机交互界面。第 8~10章重点介绍数据收集、分析、解释和呈现,提到了一些数据分析中定量和定性的基本方法,并介绍了一些统计方法中的基本知识。从第 11章起主要介绍需求的发现、设计、原型建立、构建以及评估过程,特别是在第 15章中还提出了实地研究和野外研究的概念,这对目前交互领域中的实验方面起到很大的帮助作用。第 16章重点介绍评估检查、分析和建模,对交互设计具有指导性作用。与第 4版相比,本书增加了对大数据的探索过程(第 10章),并将第 4版中第 9章的内容进行了精简编排,形成了第 2章。此外,其他章节也有一定程度的改动,使内容更加完善。

本书翻译难度较大,主要原因是交互设计涉及众多学科,其中包括社会科学、计算机科学、心理学、工业设计、普适计算、人机交互、艺术学,以及学科之间的交叉。对于一些专业术语,由于其在不同学科中有不同的名称与用法,所以需要译者之间进行讨论,并根据语义与上下文最终确定。
